Doctors, hospital administrators joined HealthSolutions and GE Healthcare at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel in launching the GE Healthcare BIX5 Patient Monitors for the first time in the Philippines.
MANILA, August 2017—GE Healthcare and its exclusive distributor in the Philippines, HealthSolutions Enterprises, Inc. (HSEI), recently unveiled the new B1X5 Patient Monitors from their Affordable Care Portfolio (ACP) to representatives of private and government hospitals at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
The B1X5 Patient Monitors include two models: the B105 and B125, which have the same cutting-edge features at different screen sizes (10- and 12-inches). The monitors are affordable but designed with premium features that can compete with other expensive brands.
“We want to provide affordable solutions in all the healthcare equipment. We’ve been known for our premium products but we want to venture in the more affordable product lines because we want healthcare to be available for everyone,” Vianne Soo GE Healthcare ACP Business Development Manager, ASEAN, Life Care Solutions said.
GE Healthcare continuously develops products that intend to address the struggles that clinicians encounter. The B105 and B125 Patient Monitors are engineered from the ground-up to meet various clinical requirements. The patient monitors include parameter technologies and dependable features that empower clinicians to monitor and diagnose with greater confidence.
In response to clinical requirements, the B105 and B125 Patient Monitors feature a True Capacitive Touch technology that makes it easy for clinicians to touch the screen, even while wearing gloves. It is also designed to be drop-proof for a fully-protected monitor for when patients are transported or in cases of accidental dropping.
It includes a larger numeric text for easy reading of up to four meters away, an extra port for connecting more patient monitors, and the option to connect to a central station.
The advanced patient monitors are also WI-FI capable and it can print the patients’ parameters directly upon connecting a printer.
“GE Healthcare aims to produce more affordable devices that maintain a high quality. Not only that, we at GE Healthcare together with HealthSolutions are vigorously continuing clinical education to further strengthen the pillar of the healthcare architecture,” Steven Lee GE Healthcare Segment Leader, ASEAN said.
And to educate attending clinicians during the launch, GE Healthcare and HealthSolutions featured lectures from Dr. Arlene Jane Sy-Reodica, GE Healthcare Clinical Applications Specialist, ASEAN, on Capnography and Metabolic monitoring.
Dr. Sy-Reodica said the devices are crucial to determining the patient’s well-being especially during intensive care because it brings together capnography and metabolic monitoring in a relatively affordable package. Through capnography clinicians will be able to extensively monitor the patient’s state preventing major complications and even death. Metabolic monitoring on the other hand is crucial to determine the energy requirements of the patient which helps hasten their recovery in the ICU. By housing it in one equipment, doctors and other medical professionals will gain a more effective way to monitor the well-being of a patient.
GE Healthcare and HealthSolutions will also launch the B1X5 Patient Monitors in Cebu and Davao this September 2017.
